This WWW Home Page is an attempt to further some of the goals of the MSNS Mission. Look to this page to find out when the next MSNS meetings are and where. We encourage members, non-member, students and teachers to come visit this site often as we intend to add new information on a regular basis, from how coal is formed to where the mining and petroleum universities are.

The Mission of the Mining Society of Nova Scotia (MSNS) is:

To meet the needs of the mining, metallurgy, petroleum and related industries by providing quality services and value to the membership through:

Technical Forums
Professional Social Networking
Promoting Industries
Encouraging student understanding of the industry and commitment to the industry
Recognition of excellence through awards and prizes
Collaboration with other organizations of similar interest including CIM and the
Chamber of Mineral Resources
Representation to Government on behalf of industry on issues that affect the industries
